From a small stall connected with Kapten (steamboat shop in SS15, Subang Jaya), into a franchise around Klang Valley, Sangkaya is now famous for its coconut ice cream. Why is it famous?
Because they produce their own coconut ice cream, which is incredibly smooth and creamy to your taste buds. If you aren't a fan of coconut, this may change your mind. You'll probably get mind blown on how good this taste like (like seriously).

This is from Sangkaya Sunway Pyramid (it's situated under an escalator). Got a picture of their menu which had grown tremendously from just selling coconut ice cream. They sell two types of ice cream now, the 'coconut ice cream' (which is their best seller, duh?) and 'cha yen ice cream' which the coconut ice cream is infused with Thai milk tea. They sell it in a cone with two scoops for RM3.10, in a cup with three scoops for RM7.30 and their signature which is presented in a coconut shell with six scoops of their delicious ice cream for RM10.50. The prices are actually not pretty bad for some artisan ice cream (comparing to Haagen Dazs and the others okay). Frankly, they do not charge for the topping cause its a do-it-yourself topping thing (you can see a photo below of what that meant). Not only ice cream they are selling, now they are also selling chendol, coconut water (from opening the coconut shell that they are gonna use for their signature ice cream), the 'real' coconut shake (this is unbelievably delicious, YOU HAVE TO TRY IT) and bottled R.O. water which has their label on it haha.

Rating for Sangkaya: 9/10
Price: RM 4-11 (not bad for an after meal dessert)

When waffles suddenly pops into mind, the one place that could satisfy that waffle craving would definitely be Inside Scoop which is located in the heart of Taipan USJ (picture below shows the shop's outdoor sign).

The informational board of its operational hours. Pretty reasonable because really, who eats dessert in the morning? (though, there are a few)

They offer to either have your ice cream in a cup (there's different sizes to choose from), cone, with waffle (that's the reason why most people are there for really) and lastly, pack it home, either one or three flavours. The pricing is pretty reasonable.

There are so many flavours to choose from, it's like heaven on earth! All ice creams made by Inside Scoop are mostly made with either imported and local flavours. The imported flavours are like Valrhona chocolate, Nutella, Japanese green tea, Peanut Butter and so much more. For the local flavours, they have Bandung (yes, like the drink), Durian, Teh Tarik, and many more. The flavours are usually rotated daily and you wouldn't really know what's in the next day and that's the fun of it. You'll get to taste different flavours.

Inside Scoop has like this amazing grass section where you can sit with your partner/group to have your ice cream and waffles. There's this cute "Shoe free zone" sign to remind customers to remove their shoes before entering the green section.

These are how they serve the yummy goodness on a plate. Doesn't this looks amazing?

Rating for Inside Scoop: 9/10 (you should definitely try it out)

Craving for green tea or sushi? Okonomi is one of the best places to satisfy your green tea cravings. One of their famous green tea food on the menu is their unique matcha lava cake. Their molten is made from white chalet that tasted something like egg yolk. Along with matcha chocolate sticks, sprinkled with sugar, decorated with strawberry and vanilla ice cream at the side. We dig into the scrumptious looking green dessert by slicing open the lava cake. The molten flowed out smoothly and gently from the crack. Somehow everyone was excited to catch the 'opening ceremony' of slicing the lava cake and watch the molten flow. After the lava cake, it definitely made us all eager to try it out the next green tea item that is the matcha ice-cream. It looks simple but don't be fool by the plain looks.
All in all, their green tea quality and taste is definitely to die for. Moreover, their price range for matcha desserts and beverages is lower than Nana's green tea and they also serve sushi that is freshly made upon order. Customers are also allowed the choice to mix and match their sushi up to 40 varieties of fillings. Okonomi has only one outlet currently at Solaris Publika. One would be quite surprise by the clean design of a contemporary Japanese cafe, strategic location, really good food, cheerful ambiance and suitable price for Publika's crowd.

Hello, Sunday! We're all tired and stressed up after a long day at college doing our group assignment. However, the weekends only allows us to rest for a few minutes or hours. We heard that a new cafe had just popped up around Kota Damansara. Heard of Fifth Palate? It wasn't hard to locate this place as we depended on Waze to brought us here. When we reached the place, we noticed several small signs that lead us directly to their cafe located upstairs.

It is definitely a beautiful, simple and cozy place to be at. Loved the ambience and the black and white theme cafe interior. We ordered a plate of 'Drunken Frenchman' and picked two different flavours of yogurt from the display fridge beside the counter which was 'Wheatgrass' and 'Mango'. Both the yogurts had textures so soft like homemade yogurts and it tasted exactly as it was named after without the flavour being too overwhelming for our tastebuds.
Next came the 'Drunken Frenchman' (what a catchy name for a french toast) as previously stated in our order!! Hooray! Actually, it is a french toast, spread all over the toast was their own-made peanut butter, topped with bacons, bananas that has been caramelised and ice cream on the top. It is definitely appetising to look at. Also a HUGE diet spoiler with all that calories in one plate. If you love PEANUT BUTTER, i would recommend to try out this french toast for sure! Their peanut butter jam is very rich. However a part from the beautiful appetising way it was brought out, somehow the taste didn't quite blend together. It isn't bad but the combo tasted either too sweet or savoury salty for a french toast. The peanut butter however for some reasons, appeared too sweet or sticky based on individual opinion. We shared the toast together and ate everything except for the toast that was generously given a lot of peanut butter spread on it.
Overall, we loved the ambiance and the service provided. However the prices of the food there is a little bit pricey for college students but it was served at a reasonable portion. Ratings given to this cafe would be 7/10. Not bad!!
